Intro: Joe Montgomery is a professional singer, with many dynamics and skills. He is talented and university-trained, with a Master's degree in Music. Additionally, he received training at the Pacific Conservatory of the Arts and the American Center for Music Theatre. His vocal range is Baritone-Bass. His many creative musical skills include: ability to read music, ability to sight sing, harmonize, ability to solo, sing a wide variety of musical genres from Opera to Musical Comedy, Liturgical music to Operettas, not to forget, a host of musical variety shows and performs as a Season Dickens caroler. He has performed in over 50 operas and musical comedies. He has toured the British Isles, Mexico, Asia, and Italy. He is a professional singer at Saint Bede's Episcopal Church in Los Angeles.

Musical Comedy: Joe Montgomery, has performed in over 30 musical comedies. His favorite roles include the ever-so-charming, sharp-shooting Frank Butler in Annie Get Your Gun, the deceitful, cunning Jigger Craigin in Carousel, the pompous, officious Pennsylvanian John Dickinson in 1776, professional bachelor Henry Higgins in My Fair Lady , handsome, skillful and egotistical hunter Gaston in Beauty and the Beast , and the ultimate law and order figure Javert in Les Misérables. Joe won critical acclaim for his performance in 1776 and received a "Shining Star" award for his portrayal of Jigger Craigin in Carousel.

Joe is a member of Actor's Equity Association and the American Guild of Musical Artists. He has a Master's of Arts and has studied at the American Center for Music Theatre in Los Angeles and Pacific Conservatory for the performing arts. His outstanding voice, perfect sense of comic timing and his joie de vivre make him a favorite of audiences.



Opera: Joe has performed professionally with Opera Pacific, The Los Angeles Opera and many others. A few selections from his repertoire include "Bella Siccome Un Angelo" from Don Pasquale, "Hai Gia Vinta La Causa" from Le Nozze Di Figaro, "O du mein holder Abendstern" from Tannhouser. He has shared the stage with such luminaries as Dame Joan Sutherland in Norma, Leona Mitchell in Aida and Un Ballo In Maschara, and Pablo Elvira in il Barbiere di Sevillia. Joe has a Master of Arts in Music and is a classically trained singer. He added to his music education through study with Opera Works. He is a member of American Guild of Musical Artists (AGMA). Joe has the committment and physical, mental and emotional stamina to continue performance and involvement in opera. He served as Vice President on the board of directors for Opera Works, and currently serves as Vice President on the board of Directors for Opera Associates. He is a member of the Met Committe and Los Angeles Opera League, which assists up-and-coming young opera singers. His artful and skillful strategic planning is astute and diplomatic. He has performed in over 30 operas.



Concert Stage: Joe Montgomery with his powerful and artistic bass baritone voice has performed as a guest soloist on the Concert Stage. His vocal credits include Masses, Cantatas and Oratorios. He has sung Beethoven's 9th Symphony's Ode To Joy with the California Philharmonic Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Victor Vener. He is a classically trained musician, and sings in English, Latin, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Russian and Catalan. He has apeared on the concert stage for over 20 performances.


Musical Variety: Joe Montgomery has a great amount of experience in the Musical Variety venue. He has toured military installations in Southeast Asia, entertaining the troops as a singer, dancer, actor and instrumentalist on the piano, trumpet and drums. He has served as Master of Ceremonies for beauty pageants and as commentator for fashion shows. He has performed with The Tap Dancing Barber Shop Quartet at the Variety Arts Theatre in downtown L.A. Joe's most recent musical variety gigs were with a Charles Dickens acapella Christmas Caroling Quartet for the Christmas season. These groups caroled Beverly Hills, the Downtown Corporate Business District, Lawry's Restaurant, Pasadena, as well as the Farmer's Market. Joe is classically trained with a Master of Arts degree in music, with additional studies at the Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts. His education and experience have given him the springboard for successful performance in these often interactive audience situations. He performs with the Music Companie Singers.



Cabaret: Joe Montgomery has several cabaret shows available for performance. Whether you need a 10, 20, 30 or 60-minute show, it's available. From soundtracks, jazz trio, band and big band charts - they are available - Broadway standards, jazz, rock, it's available. I'm sure you'll find a show to meet your needs.
